The Rebirth is an independent initiative by Jo Blankenburg, Maya Haddi, Andy Fox and Nitish Raina to help the victims of the ongoing crisis in Syria.

All proceeds will be donated to the International Committee of the Red Cross for Syria.

The song was composed by Jo Blankenburg, featuring Maya Haddi’s voice. The composer drew inspiration from Andy Fox‘s photographs of Syria and Nitish Raina’s poetry.

Jo Blankenburg’s latest album, Elysium, has been awarded the “Best Album of the Year 2012” by Reviews New Age.

Other nominees included “Illusions” by Thomas Bergersen, “The Piano” by Chad Lawson, “The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings OST” and many other wonderful albums.

A big thank you to Capellen Orchestra & Choir and Petr and Petra Pololanik for conducting three unforgettable days of recording Czech Republic’s finest musicians.

For this album Jo recorded an all-star ensemble of 14 brass players and a record-breaking 52-piece string section with 6 concertmasters in the first violins and three first chairs in all the other sections. Jo’s dear friend and amazing vocalist Felicia Farrere also performed besides boy vocalist Dominik Brychta.
